Eligibility for Membership
Membership in the WINGED COMMANDOS™ is open to all individuals who qualify in any of the categories stated below, regardless of their race, religion, physical challenges and who does not belong to any controversial political or illegal para-military organization.
Types of Memberships
A. Regular Member
A REGULAR MEMBER shall be any legally competent person 18 years of age or older who applies for membership, signs the required documents, pays the required membership fees, and agrees to follow all WINGED COMMANDOS™ by-laws, Safety and Authenticity Rules.
B. Family Memberships
FAMILY MEMBERSHIPS shall be available to any legally competent person, who is a part of a Regular Member's family, living at the same place of residence, has family membership fees paid, and agrees to follow all Winged Commandos™ by-laws.
C. Honorary Memberships
HONORARY MEMBERSHIPS, by a unanimous vote of the board of directors, may be granted to a member who has rendered outstanding service to the organization. Honorary members shall not pay dues.
D. Associate Memberships
An ASSOCIATE MEMBER is any person 18 years or older or business that wishes to join the Winged Commandos™, receive Winged Commandos™ information, attend activities, participate in a support role, but who cannot dress in period clothing to take part in public events. Associate members can vote and must have all fees paid as prescribed in the WINGED COMMANDOS™ by-laws.
E. Affiliated Organizations
AFFILIATED ORGANIZATIONS are those groups with whom the WINGED COMMANDOS™ share a like purpose in furthering an authentic portrayal of World War II history. Affiliated organization nominations received by and to the WINGED COMMANDOS™ Officers shall be approved only by a unanimous vote. Approved affiliated organizations qualify for cross-promotion in publications. Members in good standing of affiliated organizations shall automatically be invited to participate in WINGED COMMANDOS™ events and activities provided they agree to stated WINGED COMMANDOS™ Safety and Authenticity guidelines. Affiliated organizations cannot vote and do not pay dues. Affiliated organizations shall never be considered who maintain tolerance of racist, fascist, communist or other radical un-American attitudes or whose purpose is not in line with the tribute objective of the WINGED COMMANDOS™.
Section 3. Annual Dues
The membership shall determine by vote all dues and fees to be assessed. All renewals shall be paid annually. Officers must have their dues paid in order to hold office. An elected Officer who does not have his/her dues paid may lose their office and membership and the office declared vacant.
Section 4. Discharging of Members
Any member may be discharged from the WINGED COMMANDOS™ by a majority vote of the Officers for conduct discrediting the WINGED COMMANDOS™, unlawful acts, unlawful acts against the WINGED COMMANDOS™ or its Officers, for threats of violence against any member of the WINGED COMMANDOS™, or for violation of the WINGED COMMANDOS™ by-laws and/or Safety and Authenticity Rules. Any member discharged for any of these reasons shall not be eligible for any refund, in part or whole of any dues paid. The member shall also be subject to criminal prosecution.
Section 5. Terms of Membership
The membership period shall run twelve months for the date of payment made to the organization. At this time there shall be no honorary memberships available.
Dues
Dues for REGULAR MEMBERS shall be $25.00 per year. Dues for FAMILY MEMBERS shall be $40.00 so long as at least two members in the same household maintain membership in good standing; otherwise the Regular Member dues apply. Dues for ASSOCIATE MEMBERS shall be $25.00 per year.
Membership Rights
Upon acceptance into the WINGED COMMANDOS™ WWII Living History Group, each member is entitled to:
A. Be granted a membership card containing their name, membership level, and expiration date, signed by the Executive Officer. The membership card of the Executive Officer will be signed by the Group Adjutant.
B. A current copy of the Safety and Authenticity Rules.
C. To attend all WINGED COMMANDOS™ sponsored events or events where the WINGED COMMANDOS™ have been invited to attend.
D. To vote, on all matters open to the membership, by postal mail, electronic mail or in person.
E. The right to appeal any decision made by the Officers that will forfeit their membership.
F. To hold membership in other, similar commemorative organizations so long as those organizations are not controversial political or illegal para-military organizations.
